2021: FMC Corporationwas conferred the Digital and Technology-Enabled Company award by TheFederation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI)last evening atits Chemicals and Petrochemicals Awards 2021 ceremonyheldat the Hotel Taj Palace, New Delhi, India.The annualawards event recognizes individuals and companies for theircontribution towards the Indian chemicals industry across 16 categories, includingthe Digital and Technology-Enabled Company award categorywhich was added thisyear. FMC is recognized for its efforts in promoting digitisation of theagriculture value chain, from farmer level interaction to distributor andretailer engagement. “It is an honour to be recognized by theindustry,” said Mr. Pramod Thota, President, FMC India. “The pandemic hasaffected our country’s agricultural industry in a profound way. The FMC team wastenacious in its commitment to support farmers in India through it all. Usingdigital technology, we reached more than 2 million farmers to providethe know-howand solutions they needed to continue growing their cropswithout disruption.” Today, agriculture’smost pressing challenges are being addressed through advances in artificialintelligence (AI), genomics, robotics, precision agriculture, biopesticides,synthetic biology and other innovations. As progress in these disciplinesconverge, they will radically alter how crop inputs are developed, sold andapplied.
